wait, I need to introduce myself. My name is Kim Hodous and
I’m the founder of Balanced Working Mom.
It’s a
company I started because I saw so many women struggling to balance
family and career……….let alone having
some time
for themselves in there! My
life is a beautiful balance of my family, the work that fills me up and
having the time and space to know who I am.
All these things in BALANCE are what I feel really allow me to live an
extraordinary life………but it
wasn’t always
that way…..
Twelve
years ago I
was a stressed out, overwhelmed, and exhausted high school history
teacher. I wasn’t doing a very good job of teaching (my apologies to
all
you former students who probably didn’t get the best
education
from me!), I
was doing the best I could at mothering and I didn’t even consider the possibility of having extra
time
to exercise, go enjoy the company of friends, or to be with myself and
pursue passions outside of my family or career as an option!
All I
wanted to experience
was the joy of motherhood, combined
with a fulfilling career and a life that had room for ME in
it! But all I felt was that I was getting beat
up by responsibilities and obligations and
impossible demands on my time every day…….
I knew I
was smart enough to figure out how I could continue
to be connected to my family, engaged in work I love and have time
for the relationships important to me – most especially my relationship with myself!
And so over
the next few years I discovered the MAGIC

Today,
what a different story! I have a life full of fun and joy and
satisfaction. I do work that fills me up and is way more like
play thanwork! I have a connected,
loving family that supports each other.
A marriage that’s hot! And a true sense of who I
am,
because my priorities are what fill up my days…..not
trivial,
time consuming alternatives!
Today,
my life is so much different! You wouldn’t believe

in the hills of California in June!

and most importantly…..your

wasn’t that simple to figure
out…….because I
didn’t really know anyone successfully doing it!

the information I could find on parenting came from psychologists or therapists..and

of that still applies :)!)

important things in my life get handled first, not last (or never!).
Set my week
up for
